Week 3 Review - That's it, I'm outta here

Well that was a fucker of a week. It began early on Friday morning when footballs best moustache Gardner Minshew led the Jags to a win over the Titans. Of especially hilarious note in this match was that Fournette had one run for 69 yards but finished the day with only 66 yards rushing.
Later on the Antonio Brown saga hopefully came to an end (for now) when even the Patriots decided they didn't want him. You have to suspect that they and him know a hefty ban is coming and decided to hit the eject button before he costs them money. Later on Mr Big chest seemed to indicate that he was done with the NFL. The XFL have already stated that they're not interested and don't want the league to be a freak show but they need to draw the crowds somehow and an AB/Johnny Football combo might get the punters interested for at least a week.
On Saturday I enjoyed the last days of the summer by wearing shorts and drinking cider out of skull shaped Halloween mason jars cause why not? On Sunday everything went to shit but first the actual games.
In the early round of games, I don't want to say Miami had the best game of their season so far but they did concede less than they had done over the first 2 weeks, this team is still a disaster though and generally a must start everyone against them outfit. In Western New York the Bills went 3-0 and set up a week 4 match up with division arch rivals the Patriots. The Patriots as expected comfortably won against the Jets with the Jets defence seemingly their most potent attacking threat this season, luckily 'Adam Gase is an offensive mastermind'. In Kansas, Mahomes once again went off in the second quarter and seems like a man who when he turns it on cannot be stopped by anyone. Another surprise package so far this season are the Lions who remain undefeated and face this elite Kansas offence week 4. Elsewhere the Browns look to be in trouble, investing all of your time and money on offensive weapons without the personnel to protect Mayfield looks like it could be a bad move for Cleveland, Baker is regularly under pressure and so far has only really got things going against a bad Jets team.
Last night the Bears comfortably beat Washington in a game that I needed something like 78 points from Montgomery in to get the win, so obviously fucks given about this match up were not very high round my way.
With that I guess it's time to get to the match ups, I think it's fair to say I got my back doors a wee bit busted in. I now find myself in a position where I have yet to score under 120 points this season but I'm sitting with a 1-2 record and second bottom of the league with by far the most points scored against me. Cregles needed this win badly and it has launched him straight back in to the chasing pack and an interesting match up with the leagues current Miami Dolphins , the Untradeables.
Stew lost in a tight and low scoring match up against Lewis to find himself 0-3 at the bottom of the table. Stew finds himself a little hard done by with his Rams studs just not getting the job done, while the real life Rams team are sitting 3-0 they're just not doing it in a fantasy relevant way and Stew has to be questioning how much longer this can go on. CMC almost single handedly dragged Lewis to the win here despite Lewis's own Quarterback concerns.
Next up and Chris can feel aggrieved to lose this week after waking to discover a 21 point game by the Bears D on Monday night football has cost him the match, this despite a 14 point game from his own Pats D on Sunday. If Dalvin Cook had stayed on the field a little longer or Vance hadn't gone off injured this could have worked out differently. Dave meanwhile is delighted to find himself with a positive win loss record and a share of the league lead going into week 4.
Week 1's surprise package Emo is now officially in freefall. He went down to a heavy loss here thanks in part to a disaster from his RB's and one of his star receivers getting cut and seemingly walking away from the game. For the second week in a row the Lizard King Sammy Watkins didn't get it done and Emo must be praying for Tyreek to get back to work and take the coverage off of Watkins almost as much as Hills kids are. For SJ1 a bombastic 40+ point performance from Russell Wilson glazed over the Bell and John Ross shaped cracks in his team to give him a comfortable win in the end.
Last up in the Sugarlump bowl, Smithy took a hard fought W in what at first glance was a tight affair, however a closer look at the breakdown shows that Smithy spent the whole weekend in front and the gap only closed due to his players all finishing up for the weekend early on Sunday. It is fair to say that he got lucky though as he lost two big name players in the shape of Michel and Barkley. A win is a win though and he finds himself 2-1 and leapfrogging Raeanne in the standings. a poor week from Hopkins essentially cost Raeanne this week and she will be hoping for more next week against Strawbs.
So that's week 3 and the summer over, I'm off to try and calculate how many points Smithy is going to score against me.
